You will have the opportunity to play a diverse and interesting role in supporting plant operations. This role will cover occupational hygiene monitoring such as dust, noise, radiation, water quality management but will also assist with environmental monitoring. This role is being offered on a 5/2 Monday to Friday roster, (with the option to move to a 5/2/4/3 roster) and is Goldfields residential, so you will be home every night and have your weekends off. Your responsibilities would include:

  • SRS data submission
  • Assist in applying Respirator Protection Policy, including undertaking respirator face fitting
  • Highlight threats and non-compliances to site management
  • Ensure relevant management plans are kept up to date, including changes in regulatory or legislative requirements
  • Ensure samples are collected and sent to laboratories for analysis
  • Undertake improvement projects in the areas of safety, occ hygiene and environment
  • Liaise with external service providers and stakeholders.

About you:

  • Unwavering approach to safety
  • Working knowledge of the basic Principals in Occupational Hygiene
  • Possess Certificate IV OH&S, or equivalent
  • Possess IFAP Surface Ventilation Officer competency as per WHS (Mines) Regs 2022, or willingness to obtain and be appointed
  • Noise Officer as per WHS (Mines) Regs 2022, or willingness to be appointed
  • Experience in working within and auditing OH&S Management Systems
  • Training as a Radiation Safety Officer highly regarded
  • Previous exposure at an operating plant or mine site in a similar role in Western Australia
  • Respirator PPE requirements are utilized on site, whereby facial hair needs to comply, as per Australian Standards 1715:2009.
  • Lynas Kalgoorlie is a residential site, all employees must reside within the region, or be willing to relocate to the Goldfields region.
