Lynas Rare Earths is an established ethical and environmentally responsible producer of rare earth materials, being the world’s only significant producer of separated rare earth materials outside of China. Our Western Australian rare earths mine at Mt Weld boasts a LOM of more than 25 years, and will supply concentrate to the newly constructed and commissioning Kalgoorlie plant, just a few short kilometres west of Kalgoorlie.Our people work in an environment where safety is always the first priority, and driving a positive workplace culture with safety underpinning everything we do is pivotal in how Lynas strives to operate.The Opportunity:Our team is ready for a proactive, collaborative and highly motivated Medical Emergency Service and Security Officer (MESSO) who wishes to be involved with a positive company culture who can drive the security, health and emergency response initiatives collectively across our new site.Our MESSO’s will ultimately provide site security, medical and emergency response services to ensure Lynas Kalgoorlie complies with our Mine Safety Management Plan, supporting procedures and relevant legislative requirements.This role will be offered on an even time 7:7 roster. You will be responsible for (but not limited to):Site security, medical and emergency response capabilityResponding effectively, potentially as on scene commander, to minor or major on-site incidents, injuries, providing emergency rescue, fire rescue, medical care, administering basic life support, if and when necessaryInjury management supportFacilitating and conducting drug and alcohol testingProviding input into medical clearances to potential employees and/or return to work employees in line with site policies and proceduresMentoring and providing ongoing support of the Emergency Response Team volunteers on siteManaging and administering the site access security systems and processesConducting internal audits and inspections on Emergency response equipment, ensuring emergency equipment is maintained and in good serviceable conditionSupporting injury prevention and company-wide health and safety initiatives.
