As a team member you will be contributing to the sustainable supply of rare earths metals which are used in oil & gas, electric vehicles and wind turbines.Lynas is embarking on an expansion in Western Australia and we’re looking for a driven Graduate - Environmental wanting to join us on our journey. Role:Reporting to our Environmental Advisor, your primary responsibility will be to assist in the delivery of environmental monitoring and management programs at Mt Weld Rare Earth Project. The role will also assist the HSE team in other activities.Core Skills and Competencies:Effective communicator, both verbally and in written form, diplomatic with strong relationship building skills, proactive and shows initiative.High attention to detail and accuracy - Data Entry, Reporting (internal and external), EMS development and review must be of a high level.Ability to work productively with limited supervision.Strong organisational skills. Responsibilities:Conduct environmental monitoring (e.g. flora, fauna, dust, groundwater, waste) data entry, and technical report preparation as per relevant licence/permit requirements granted under EP Act Part IV and V and Mining Act.Support the maintenance and implementation of the ISO 14001 Certified Environmental Management System including draft preparation of management plans, procedures and maintaining compliance registers.Participate in site inspections and audits, including external audits and assist in environmental incident investigationsCoordinate clearing activities under the site disturbance process and the management of disturbance data for external reportingAssist to compile annual environmental reports, including but not limited to DWER and DMIRS AERsCompile emissions data for NPI and NGER reportingManagement of environmental consultants and contractorsAssist in the delivery of environmental training and awareness to project personnel promoting continuous improvement in environmental management.Assist with rehabilitation work across the operations including landform construction and reshaping, monitoring and technical investigationsAssist HSE team as required for Potable water and Hivol dust sampling. Qualifications, Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Resource or Conservation Science, Environmental Management or equivalent.C class manual drivers’ licence, and comfortable with driving on gravel roadsAwareness of Western Australian environmental legislationExpanding problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to your work, and high attention to detail Desirable:Knowledge of GIS SystemsExperience in undertaking field monitoringFauna handling skills will be beneficial, but not essentialInterested in becoming a member of the site Emergency Response TeamAt Lynas Rare Earths, we pride ourselves on offering competitive remuneration packages and benefits.
