The role leads a team to deliver resources and reserves for extraction and processing of ores to customer specifications. Reporting to the Executive GM, Resource Development and Operations, this is a permanent fly in/fly out (FIFO) role from Perth to Mt Weld Operations on an 8/6 roster. You will be Responsible for:Mentoring and supporting the training and development of Geologists, Hydrologists and Geological TechniciansBuilding effective teams, including planning, and organising resourcesIdentification of exploration hazards and principal mine hazards and use of risk management for the safe design and operation of exploration and grade control activitiesManagement of land tenements, decision making for relinquishing and securing tenements and conversion between forms of tenureApplication of the Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves (JORC) 2012 for increasing mineral resources and ore reservesSupervision of drilling programs, cost control and QA/QC for sample collection and samplingManaging through integrated management systems and knowledge management Skills and experience required for this role:Extensive experience in economic geology in both production roles and exploration project managementUnderstanding of geo-metallurgy and the effects of mineralogy and host geology on mineral processing responseUse of geology databases, data management, data analytics and visualisation and managing software knowledge systemsAbility to identify priorities, plan, budget and assign work within a teamContract management, contractor management and project management to achieve schedule and cost targetsWritten communication to diverse stakeholders including company executives, governments, and shareholdersRelevant Bachelor’s degree in GeologyAusIMM or AIG membershipWe welcome and encourage applications from women and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, the LGBTIQA+ community, mature age workers, as well as candidates with culturally diverse backgrounds.
